MyPartyPlanner - Search Engine Optimization

The Client

MyPartyPlanner is online party services directory. In 2006, MyPartyPlanner approached Lurus to prepare an in-depth search engine optimization campaign.

The Problem

MyPartyPlanner was a start-up company. Their idea of bringing together party services with people looking for party services was novel at the time. However, without traffic, they could not get vendors on their website. Without vendors, their business would not succeed.

In a very shot time , MyPartyPlanner traffic grew to thousands of visitors per day. MyPartyPlanner monetized their site by selling vendor listings. While this was a creative scheme to generate ROI, Lurus offered an alternative approach, Lurus implemented a lead generation campaign along with Google Adsense.

Solution

A complete plan was formulated for Lurus which included every aspect of Search Engine Optimization. From day one, the website was built with the latest SEO techniques and best known methods in mind..

Once traffic was achieved to the website, ROI was lower than initially expected. MyPartyPlanner approached Lurus to determine schemes to maximize their income. MyPartyPlanner had approximately 10K vendors on the website. Vendors bought ad space once per year. However, Lurus pointed out that 20K visitors were coming to the website each day. These were potential buyers! This led Lurus to put together a lead generation program along with adsense.

Over the course of the next 3 years, Lurus has made several design changes to MyPartyPlanner geared at mamizing ROI. Once the website converted to a lead generation model, it was important to convert as many visitors as possible.

Results

Today, MyPartyPlanner is an industry leader in the party services industry.

The initial year was spent building out the overall Search Engine Optimization Scheme. In 2007, traffic reached a level where the site could officially launch. Even though traffic initially was minimal, the design was appealing. Once the site was launched, sales began immediately. Vendors purchased based on the fact that MyPartyPlanner was unique and innovative.

Traffic increased exponentially per the graph shown below. After spending the first year making money strictly on vendor listings, MyPartyPlanner shifted to a lead generation model and Google Adsense. From 2007 to 2008, ROI increased 175%. While traffic played a significant role in this ROI increase, the new lead generation model was also beginning to pay dividents. ROI from 2008 to 2009 has remained strong at 155% during a troubled economy.
