The Lurus website development process is a five step method that takes our customers from website idea through turning it into reality. These steps have proven effective to create the best business value from your investment
Our Website Development Process
Step 1: Idea Conception
Step 2: Business Requirements / Technical Capabilities
Step 3: Rough Sketch and Graphical Mockup
Step 4: Site Coding and Testing
Step 5: User Acceptance
Step 1: Idea Conception
The idea conception phase will include interviews with clients, potential users, customers and stakeholder to understand the unique product or service you are trying to offer. This phase might also include competitive benchmarking.
The goal of this phase is for Lurus to be able to understand our client’s goals and objectives and in turn be able to best meet their business goals / needs in the most cost effective manner.
Step 2: Business Requirements / Technical Capabilities
Creating Business Requirements and Technical capabilities is the process of taking your idea and turning into something specific that can be communicated, negotiated and or debated. The output of this phase will be a requirements document or a feature list and also the technology or technical features that must also be included. This will also include both database and software technologies that will be used.
Step 3: Rough Sketch and Graphical Mockup
This is the step where the vision and idea begin to take shape. Our Lurus designers will turn your idea into a static mockup of the layout of your site with appropriate color schemes, page dimensions, etc.. In this phase there may be several iterations between client and Lurus until the mockup is approved to move forward.
Step 4: Site Coding and Testing
This is where Lurus engineers take over and, beginning with the mockup, begin to turn your site into reality. This includes taking graphical layouts and implementing HTML and software code to turn the site into life. This step also includes database design and implementation as well as testing to make sure everything is working according to plan.
Step 5: User Acceptance
This is the final stage of our development methodology and includes all aspects of client approval and making sure the product matches what was agreed upon in the feature list and / or technical specifications document. This stage also includes turning over the product to the customer and any or all associated client training. Some aspects of user acceptance may also be included in the site coding and testing phase.
